The Captain's Statement

Fulk Al Salam; the idea and the concept in harmony lead to a perfect combination of seaworthiness and comfort. The idea of having a yacht that combines sea-worthiness, long range and comfort is something more of a dream of any Yachts man. Shipyards all over the world no matter how seriously they try to meet all such needs have found themselves compromising one for the other. I have faced situations as owner of many planning hull yachts, the last of which was an Azimut 64 whereby when I wish to cruise from Kuwait to Dubai, I spoil the trip by carrying extra fuel on board as refueling is a must after only 10 -12 hours of operation at a cruise speed of 18 --20 knots per hour. Another huge discomfort is if bad luck strikes and sea get white horses ( swells or wave over 5 feet ) then you must be ready to face non-stop banging and rolling till the best seaman empties his stomach all over the yacht . Suffering all the above on my trips and legs, idea of Folk Al Salaam came to being.
A dhow ( full displacement hull ) built to the highest specifications , taking in mind all my needs and those of my fellow sea lovers, including trawling in the Gulf of  Oman and the Arabian Sea and what not has started to take shape . In the Ship yard of Riviera Boat in Ajman the action took place.
A cargo dhow usually made to transport goods between The UAE, Iran, India and the African Eat Coast was my choice.  Fitted with one (Main Engine 700hp Cummins) and for added safety and peace of mind another “take me home” 90 hp Isuzu was added. A fuel tank of 10 000 liter will give me a comfortable 800 nautical mile at a speed of 10 knots with all power gadget in swing such the 37 KW power generator and a smaller one 24 KW. To be in full control of this huge intimidating hull we transform her to a state of the art in maneuverability by fitting her with bow and stern thrusters. We have no shortage of space for fridges and freezers. Kitchens, storage space, TV, satellite communication facilities. Three man Crew room. Sitting and sun bathing areas topped by amazing three en suites cabins. Dual stations Crain and dinghy, and what not.

Fulk al Salam undergoes continuous improvements derived by the love and expertise of her proud owner and friends who share the same devotion and admiration of this magnificent vessel. She is only happy to take us where we want in style, comfort and safety. Folk Al Salaam is a Joy in Ultimatum.
